Christmas - a huge sales opportunity
Every year in the weeks leading up to December 24, huge sums of money flow from consumers' wallets into retailers' tills. In 2023, the German retail sector will turn over 120 billion euros in Christmas sales. Some sectors generate a quarter of their annual turnover in the two months of November and December. According to a study by management consultants EY, every citizen will spend €250 on Christmas presents this year.
The money will be spent - on you or somewhere else
The question now is: What proportion of this turnover will you have with your network marketing business? For example, do you have the cosmetics product area in your program? This is the third best-selling Christmas gift.
Please be aware of one fact: the money will be spent in any case - either with you and your downline or with other providers.
Buy your gifts from yourself
Success in the Christmas business starts with buying your own gifts in your own store. Show your colors, commit to your store, your company, your excellent products and give away products from your own range! It can't be right that you work hard all year round to generate income in your store and then drag this hard-earned money to the retailer so that they can make their Christmas sales!
Gifts are also promotional items
Of course, you shouldn't risk a family row by refusing to fulfill your loved ones' Christmas wishes and putting a package of your products under the Christmas tree instead. But think of all the people you want to give presents to, for whom it doesn't matter what you give. These are all the people you want to do something good for who you have given a bottle of wine, a gift box from the drugstore or a box of chocolates in previous years. These may be the letter carrier, the man from the garbage collection service, the neighbors, the babysitter, work colleagues, the cleaning lady, friends, club mates and acquaintances. You can certainly give these people products from your range as a gift. Please remember: Your gifts are also promotional gifts - which will later be followed by real sales.
Write a list of recipients
Repeat what you did at the beginning of your network marketing career: write a list of names.
Headline: "Who would I like to give a Christmas present to this year"?
Next to it, write down the name of the product you want to give as a gift and the purchase price. This will give you an overview of how much the campaign will cost you and you will then also know how much revenue this can generate per head in your sales.
Duplication - inspire your downline
Now discuss this insight with your downline. Hold an (online) meeting with your people and tell them about the huge potential of the Christmas business. Make it clear that it is a betrayal of the business if they don't take their gifts from your own range. Then get your downline partners to fill in the lists of names - and preferably with the corresponding orders. Depending on the size of your group, this can mean a really nice boost in sales!
And now also with the customers
It is important that you and each of your sales partners first create lists for yourselves. The resulting "aha!" effect will motivate you enormously for the next step. If you work in a network marketing organization in which external end customers are planned, you and your colleagues then do the same with your own customers: Arrange online appointments, write the lists of names with the customers and - you guessed it - take the orders! This works particularly well if the customers are also offered a wrapping service, meaning that they receive the gifts all wrapped up and ready to go.
So, get to work - you only get the chance to do Christmas business once a year!
