Personal development is tedious, painful – and worth it!

Personal development is tedious, painful – and worth it!

When asked what they love so much about their network marketing business, successful people rarely answer that it's the money they earn, the car they can now drive or the recognition they get. These are often the reasons why they started the business. But this motivation changes the longer they are involved and the larger their organization becomes. Then they emphasize that they are most happy about how they have grown as people, how they have developed.

    Lasting value

In fact, this is a treasure that retains its value. Money can be lost again quickly, the car will break down at some point and someone else will get the recognition tomorrow. The skills you have learned, the professional and social competence you have acquired, the strength of character you have built up and the certainty that you can cope with any situation are assets that can no longer be taken away.

    The contact list never ends

Do you know Robinson-Crusoe-Syndrome? Robinson Crusoe was the tragic hero in the novel by Daniel Defoe, a shipwrecked man, who has to spend 28 years all alone on a desert island. That's what I call the supposed loneliness of new networkers who, after a series of recruitment-talks, come to the terrible realization that they don't know anyone anymore to talk to.

That would really be a sad fate - if it were objectively true. In fact, each of us knows between 600 and 800 people, according to the statistics. Subjectively, I can understand this feeling of not knowing anyone anymore. There may be three reasons behind this, but these are more personal:

Turn to their heart, not their brain

Turn to their heart, not their brain

You want to build or expand your business? Good idea!

Then your most important and most frequent task is to win other people for your business concept, your service or your product. You want a positive decision from your interlocutors or the visitors of your presentation. Agreed?

Ok, then it is good to know that humans do not make decisions on the basis of sober considerations and careful weighing - even if we think, it is like that. No, we make decisions on the basis of affects, emotions or old habits. These are hidden in the unconscious realm, which is not easily accessible to us. When we are then asked why we have just made such a decision, we rhyme something together that sounds conclusive. That's what brain researcher Gerhard Roth from the University of Bremen found out.

    Networkers, farmers and gardeners

    Networkers, farmers and gardeners

Do you actually have a farmer or a gardener in your circle of acquaintances? If so, maybe you should meet him or her for a coffee. Because we could learn a few important principles about our network-marketing-business from them.
For example, farmers who grow crops understand a lot about the principle of sowing and harvesting. They know that no harvest is possible without sowing. First, something has to be given and invested: Seed of goog quality, a lot of work to sow the seed and a lot of patience to let the seed ripen until the harvest. They also accept that not every seed rises and bears fruit later.

So the network-marketer too has to make diligent contacts, have recruitment talks and sign in new partners, so that some of them will be successful later. He also chooses his seeds carefully by not letting everyone into his group. Rotten seeds and withered seedlings are not even brought into the downline.

We don't need more time, but better decisions

We don't need more time, but better decisions

Although each of us has 1,440 minutes every day and 168 hours every week without distinction, more and more people nowadays seem to have no time left. Why is that?

    There is no time

First of all, the statement that we have no time for any of us is correct. In the scientific sense there is no time at all. Einstein has already let us know that. Time is not a "thing" you can have. It is nothing material that one can hoard or "save" as property somewhere. It was not until the late Middle Ages that people began to divide the change of day and night and the seasons into small units and invented the clock.
